First Day at Work

Well, I start today at 1pm. Orientation Classes will last till Thursday. I got into Minneapolis ok yesterday. My room is ok could use a bit of updating but its all that I need. I do have a full kitchen, and nice sized room. The only complaints that I have is, the TV sucks!! Its is for men traveling and not women! No FoodNetwork TV, or HGTV, but they do have over 6 channels dedicated to sports!! Oh well, I do have interent access and my NOOK! I have alot of books to read and review, from LibraryThing. Its a website that you can put your name in to reeive ebooks free from authors, and all you have to do is review them. I look forward to reading some tonight.

I have to take taxis to work, will not be able to get a caar until next Friday which is payday. Hopefully I will meet someone at Orientation that can drive me back to my room.

Quilting will start tomorrow. I have to finish a quilt for my sister Linda before her Birthday. Its next month, so I have to hurry!!

That's all for now!

Going to Minneapolis, MN to work from 11/7 to 12/23!

After working with a few Travel Nursing Agencies, I got a call about a quick response assignment. THis means that you are able to work within days. I got my call on Thursday, and had verbally accepted the contract before the end of the day. Today, Friday, has been just finalizing the plans. My flight out is on Sunday, 8am from Charleston,WV. I fly to Detroit, then on to Milwaukee, and finally Minneapolis. I should arrive by 130pm on Sunday. As long as I have my Nook Color with me, its all ok!

I will be staying in Bloomington MN, at  Extended Stay America. This is a place where business travelers will stay for longer periods of time. Since I will be there for 7 weeks, this is the place for me. I will have a Queen suite, which consists of a full and equiped kitchen. It will be nice to cook a bit for myself. I can make a pot of CHILI or Sloppy Joe, and it will last a week!

I will be packing tomorrow, and getting my final things ready. I have not flown in at least 12 years! I know, alot has changed since then!

I have "won" a few new books from LibraryThing. I am not sure if they are real books or ebooks yet. Will keep posting.!

Welcome to my BLOG

After much thought, I have decided to write a Blog about the Quilts that I make, and the Books that I read.

In December 2010, I received for Christmas, the NOOK 3G-Wi-Fi. Immediately, it had become my close companion. I have always considered myself a reader, but since the NOOK, I know now, that I cannot get enough of the written word. My choice of books have evolved, as I have. When I was younger, the Romantic novels interested me. Yes, I would read an occasional Biography, but what I now call trashy novels, filled my shelves.

I stopped reading for a bit. The Nook helped me return to my quiet and relaxing hobby. My choice of novels had changed. I no longer wanted to read the Romantic novels. I was searching for something that I could get my teeth into. I began to look into books about the TEMPLARS. I read Steven Berry. I read Raymond Khoury. My likes in novels tended to be historic, myth, legend, mystery, thriller, conspiracy, or any combination. Lately I have added Sci-Fi and Fantasy novels to my choices.

I have stumbled upon a few web sites, that have ebook giveaways. I have entered a few of the contests, and, so far, I "won" two ebooks. The only stipulation on the win, is that I need to write a review of the book, and post it on Amazon and Smashwords. My first novel that I reviewed is MALICE, written by Griffin  Hayes.  You can view it by Googling MALICE on Amazon.
